JUNE 2007
Greetings Sir Knights and Ladies:
There is a little bit of repeated information in this newsletter, but there are many new things also. Sorry about that, but I wanted to get the inspection data out as early as possible so I put out the June information early.
I also do not want any confusion over the dues and assessments we have been talking about for the past 2+ years so here it is again. Please look at your bylaws to see if you have the assessments covered and enough money to run your Commandery.
Please read:
Indiana Grand Commandery Per Capita for 2007-08 will remain at $8.50.
Grand Encampment Per Capita effective 2007 will be $9.00
The $1 assessment remains for non-life members of the Eye Foundation.
To the above, you add your local dues.
Somehow, in Bulletin No. 1, I misstated the fact that Richmond No. 8 won the Traveling Trophy for selling the most ads for the Crusader Magazine, published at Grand Conclave.
H.E. Lackey No. 67 won!
I apologize to the members of H.E. Lackey for missing this and give my hearty congratulations on achieving this award. I also apologize to Richmond for building up your egos in your attempt to win this award again and again.
Also in Bulletin No. 1, I have listed on page 4 under Ramsay that Brazil Commandery 47 still exists. Sorry, they merged into Greencastle No. 11 last year.
Congratulations:
Congratulations go out to Most Worshipful Brother Duane L. Vaught, KCT, PGC, who was installed as the Most Worshipful Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Indiana on May 16, 2007. Our best wishes and prayers go with him as he begins his journey to guide the Craft into the future. Let’s all get behind our Grand Master and help him continue our growth and the positive effect we as Masons have on the world.
Also, congratulations to Sir Knight George A. Ingles, Jr., KCT, PGC, who has been appointed Junior Grand Deacon of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Indiana on May 16, 2007. We also send our best wishes and prayers to his success in the Grand Line. We look forward to his energetic and positive contributions to the Craft.
If we focus our thoughts on the ideals of our order, we will gain vision. If we let this vision govern our actions, we will gain wisdom. With vision and wisdom, we can once again infuse our order with the courage and the desire to apply change where it is needed.

****************
Think about this: A salesman breaks down on a remote country Lane, a farmer in the adjacent field comes over and they discover that they are “Brothers.” The salesman is concerned as he has an important appointment in the local town, “Don’t worry, says the farmer, you can use my car, I will call a friend and get the car repaired whilst you go to the appointment”
Off goes the salesman and a couple of hours later he returns but unfortunately the car is awaiting a part which won't arrive until the next morning. “It’s not a problem,” says the Farmer, “Use my telephone and re-schedule your first appointment tomorrow, Stay with us tonight and we will see that the car is done first thing!”
The farmer’s wife prepares a wonderful meal and they share a glass of fine single malt during an excellent evening, the salesman sleeps soundly and when he awakes there is his car, repaired and ready to go. After a full English breakfast the salesman thanks them both for the hospitality. As he and the farmer walk to his car he turns and asks “My brother, thank you so much but I have to ask, did you help me because I am a Mason?” “No” was the reply, “I helped you because I am.
